On-site work

In every port, abroad too

We come to the port where you are berthed

Your vessel doesn't sail out of its way for maintenance, so we come to you. We work throughout the Netherlands, from IJmuiden and Harlingen to Rotterdam, Scheveningen and Delfzijl, and we fit in with the place and the moment you are lying idle anyway.

The same work as in the workshop

On board we carry out much of the same work as at our quay: maintenance, measurements and inspections, emergency repairs, and the dismantling and reassembly around an overhaul. We are also on hand during a yard period or a dry-docking, precisely because that is often the moment when certain measurements work out best.

Abroad too

If your vessel is abroad, we come there just the same. That does require longer preparation, because planning, parts and import and export have to be arranged, so report it in good time and we will make sure it is sorted.

Everything arranged before we leave

It starts with a phone call or an email from your engineer, after which we agree what needs doing and how much time there is. On that basis we put a team together and make sure tools and parts are ready before we leave, because a mechanic who is missing something on location costs you a day.

Aligning with your engineer

On board, our mechanic first goes to see the engineer: what do they want done, what has changed since last time and where is the urgency? At the end of the day we report back and decide together what carries over to the next port stay, because good communication gets you a long way in this line of work.

Scaling up when time is tight

If the time window is tight, we scale up and, where necessary, run a day and a night shift. You know best what a day of downtime costs you, which is why we would rather put our shoulders to the wheel than keep your vessel waiting.

We split up heavy work

If the job calls for heavy work, we split the process: the engine is dismantled on location, we overhaul the components in our workshop in IJmuiden and then reassemble everything on board. That way you get workshop quality without your vessel having to relocate.

Our possibilities

  • On-site work

Emergency repairs after a breakdown or damage

If your vessel is out of action, every hour counts, which is why we are reachable 24/7 and come to the port where you are berthed. It usually starts with a phone call or a photo so we know exactly what to bring, and if time is tight, we run a day and a night shift.

    Get in touch

  • On-site work

    Maintenance on board

Most of the work we simply do in your engine room, from the normal service to borescope inspections and crankshaft deflection measurements. If your engineer reports a few days ahead what needs doing, the parts are ready and you know exactly what fits in the window.

24/7 on standby, on location worldwide

We are reachable day and night and come to the port where you are berthed, wherever in the world that may be. You don't get a call centre, but someone who knows your engines. If time is tight, we run a day and a night shift, so your vessel is back under way sooner.

  • On-site work

Two workshops of our own on deep water

IJmuiden and Harlingen both lie directly on the quay at deep water, with all machinery and measuring equipment within reach. What has to be done ashore is done with us, without middlemen, and you are welcome to walk through the workshop and see your parts yourself.

  • On-site work

    Specialist in all major brands

Wärtsilä, MaK, MAN, Scania, Deutz and Caterpillar are part of our daily work, and we handle other brands too. Through LBR Parts we supply new and reconditioned parts from our own stock, so you don't have to wait for a factory delivery and your downtime stays short.

  • On-site work

    Everything agreed with you

With us you always know where you stand. If we come across something on your engine during the work, you hear about it straight away, with pictures and readings. Rejected parts we set aside so you can inspect them yourself, and nothing leaves without your approval.

We can't wait to help you too!
